Taylor Swift Announced New Album after winning MTV VMAs 2022
The 32-year-old singer-songwriter made the announcement while accepting the Moon Person for video of the year at the 2022 MTV Video Music Awards on Sunday. It will be released on Republic Records on October 21.
While taking the medal for the most coveted honour of the evening, Swift made the unexpected revelation and thanked her fans for helping to create the winning video.
"Without you, I wouldn't be able to re-record my records. You gave me the confidence to act in that way, and I had already decided that if you were going to be this kind of person." The performer said.
Give us this, I thought it could be a wonderful occasion to let you know that my brand-new album is coming out on October 21," she concluded.
In addition, the celebrity mentioned how she was "heartened" by the fact that four of the directors nominated for the video of the year award were women, a first in the history of the VMAs.
I just want to say that I'm very encouraged by the fact that for the first time in VMA history, four of the directors nominated in the video of the year category are women. I'm so thrilled to have been acknowledged with such incredible artists and directors in this category.
